Clash of the Titans

Introduction: The Bastion is trying to head off the Lucifer fleet and attack it in Sirius. The plan fails, and the Bastion comes under heavy fire from the Tantalus.

Mission Objectives:
Primary - Protect the Bastion
Secondary - Keep the Bastion's Hull Above 35%

Varient 1

Recommended Ship: Ulysses
Recommended Loadout: Prometheus (p1), Avenger(p2), Hornet(s1)

Walkthrought: When the Tantalus arrives, order all of your fighters to attack the Tantalus. Make sure that your wing is Ulysses and that Beta is Valkyrie.

You probably wont attack the Tantalus, but this should put all of your fighters closer to the battle zone. When the Tantalus launches fighters and bombers, try and head them off even before they have finnished comming out of their launch bays. The farther away you intecept, the less damage that the Shivans can do to the Bastion.

Make sure your forces are covering all fighters and destroying nearly all of them in a single pass. After that, you can only hope to make the node without being completely wiped out.

Varient 2

Recommended Ship: Ursa
Recommended Loadout: Prometheus (p1), Avenger(p2), Harbinger(s1), Tsunami (s2), Interceptor (s3)

Walkthrought: In this varient, we use Ursa (and Medusa when you run out) bombers. Arm Alpha and Beta wings with Harbinger and Tsunami bombs. When the Tantalus arrives, ignore the fighters and bombers and attack the Shivan destroyed directly. It shouldn't take too long to the ship. When you've taken out the Tantalus, the Shivans will only have a few bombers left to attack and the Bastion should still be around 60% strength by that time.

This method is generally easier, so try it out when you get really frustrated.
