Slaying Ravana

Introduction: In order to secure the Nebula and Gamma Draconis, Allied Command needs to eliminate the SD Ravana. Inital attacks have failed and the destroyer is still at full strength. Your wing is needed to conduct bombing runs on the Destroyer.

Mission Objectives:
Primary - Destroy the Ravana

Recommended Ship: GTB Boanerges
Recommended Loadout: Subach HL-7 (p1), Hornet (s1), Cyclopse (s2), Cyclopse (s3)

Walkthrough: Although not especially tricky, this mission can be difficult as it is the players first experience with a major Shivan vessel and accompanying flak, beam, and fighter defenses. You'll notice almost immediatly that your not alone. An Allied Sobek is attacking the Ravana with its forward beam cannons as well as a wing of Serapis fighters which are engaging some enemy fighters. Boar in on the Ravana, engage enemy bombers if they threaten your wing.

Once your within range of the Ravana, lock your Cyclopse torpedos and get ready to fire. A common mistake by almost all players will be to launch the bombs at long range. With the lock range of Cyclopses, this will be even more tempting. Wait until you can see the hull plating before you fire your bombs. With the combined firepower of your wing and the Sobek corvet, you should be able to eliminate the destroyer with little trouble. Targeting beam emplacements, flak guns, and laser turrets is also suggested. Do not forget to watch your back, enemy fighters can be devastating to you and your wingmates if you don't keep an eye out for them.
